IEM Oakland is only a month away and world's best CS:GO teams are readying themselves for another clash in the Bay Area. With a US$300,000 prize pool and a win counting towards the Intel Grand Slam, this stacked tournament is definitely not to be missed by any esports fan.
The 12 participating teams will be divided into two groups of six. Team were seeded according to the CS:GO World Ranking. Immortals' ranking position was adjusted to match their roster without benched players LUCAS1 and HEN1.
The group stage format will be best of one round robin with the new overtime system in place, meaning if a match ends in overtime, the winner receives two points while the loser receives one point.

Winning IEM Oakland counts towards the Intel Grand Slam: a new system that awards a US$1,000,000 prize to the team that has won four out of the last ten $200,000 events held between DreamHack and ESL. So far, SK Gaming, G2 Esports, and FaZe Clan are in the lead with their wins at the recent ESL One Cologne 2017, DreamHack Masters Malmo and ESL One New York respectively. IEM Oakland comes in as the fourth event.
