IEM revisited familiar grounds with its first event being hosted at Chinajoy in Shanghai before moving to the Bay Area for its 2nd event on the west coast of America. For the first time since 2008, IEM went back to South Korea to host an event in the Mecca of esports, this time taking the newly released Blizzard Entertainment title Overwatch with it. The grand finale of Season 11 returned home to Katowice in Poland to host its biggest event yet where we saw esports take over the city for not one but two weekends for the first time in its history.
